We are officially BINKIE free!
Rusty's cousin Dax lost his last binkie in a lake...his mom told him the fish must have ate them. Well the next day when Dax came over to play with Rusty they told us the story but by the end of the day when Dax's mom came to pick him back up the story had changed a little. Thanks to the fact that they are both infatuated with Dora the Explorer, Dax's story slowly turned into a day boating at Crocodile lake and a Crocodile ate his binkie! Awesome...I love it when kids make a story more interesting!
Well A few weeks/month later we put Rusty to bed and realized that we didn't have a binkie to give him. Of course we didn't say anything hoping to find it before he started to scream. We closed his door and frantically searched the house for one...which we found! But by the time we found it, he had fallen ASLEEP! I know right! He has never done that before, fallen asleep without a binkie. We decided to just hid the binkie and see how long he could go without it. It was over 24 hours! When he finally started asking for it we told him we couldn't find them...he asked if the crocodiles ate them! Um, yeah...I think they did!
So to honor such a big-boy step and the tragic loss of crocodile eaten binkies, we went and got some new bedding. (He is probably the first of our kids to get BRAND NEW bedding. We have mostly hand-me-downs!) I figured this new bedding might help Rusty ease into the new lifestyle change.
So we surprised him with his new look.
He helped pick it out at the store, so it's not that big of a surprise...but he didn't know I had put it on his bed. (The reason his lips are blue is because he just finished his ring pop, which is his bribe for going #2! Gotta find the right bribe and then presto...completely potty trained!)

So something none of my other kids can say...Rusty was potty trained and off the binkie before he was THREE! Yeah for us!He likes it...success.
Summer time fun: What? This is summer time fun, best time to potty train period. Shorts are so much easier to handle that pants.

Lucky Lucky! We have finally mastered potty training, and pretty much have #2 down as well, but not the binky thing yet...
