Change is coming!

My husband is amazing...no question. For the past 9 + months Shawn has been working two jobs. His regular full time job and a consulting job on the side. There has been many days where he would leave the house at 7:30 am, go to work until 5:30 pm, then drive straight to his consulting job, come home real quick to help get the kids to bed at 8pm and go straight back to work until midnight...only to get at 5:30 am and do it all again the next day! If it were me I'd be able to do three days of this and then crash of exhaustion.

Not every day was like this, but Shawn has been so busy that we have gotten to the point that we don't set his plate at dinner time anymore. The kids and I have missed him but we understand the bigger picture. We have been able to pay off quite a bit of our debt and we were recently able to refinance, which we wouldn't have been able to do had it not been for Shawn's extra work and sacrifice.

Just recently Shawn was offered a full-time position at the company he has been consulting for. It was a great offer and they have tried hard to make it a wonderful opportunity for him to accept. It was still a hard decision, Shawn really likes his job and the people he works with, but this new offer is what is best for Shawn's career...so he took it!

We are excited for this upcoming change. He has listed a few pros and con's of this new adventure on his blog. A few changes that I am most looking forward to is Shawn only having one job, also his new work is 2.5 miles from home...we'll be able to see him more often! His new job is just around the corner from the kids' school so he'll be able to sneak out and watch the kids' programs! Yeah!

Congratulations on your new position Shawn , I'm so proud of you for all your hard work and sacrifices to get our family in a better financial position. You are amazing! I love you.
