FAAN Walk

(October 8, 2011)

So the day started pretty early for a Saturday...we got the Young Women and Young Men together (I've got a new calling!) and went downtown to one of the homeless shelters and helped clean and cook for them. 

We ended up sorting, cleaning, preparing food...everything that we could think of! That place has never looked as clean. It was a really neat opportunity.

Afterwards I met up with my family at the FAAN walk.  It was a really cold/windy/rainy day so there wasn't a very good turn out.  But we still had fun...

Supporting Josh is worth it!

They had a a few free things for our kids to do, bounce house and face painting...

Mily loves everything girly and beautiful!

Harry Potter, where did that come from?  (don't you think he looks a lot like Nathan A.?  Weird since they are not blood related!)

Basketball star...the gal suggested to put it on his cheek but Josh thought it would be cool to stick it in the middle of his forehead...cool or special?

We were expecting a 2 mile walk (that was what was advertised!) but the route they had roped off was only a 5-6 minute walk!  The kids were so excited because they ran past the few people in front of us and RAN through the finish line first  (hahaha--still haven't told them it wasn't a race!)  They were excited that they won!

Hopefully next year the walk will be on a better day...I wish they would switch with AZ who has an August walk day...I think it would benefit both states, but it's not up to me!
