First do this:
Then after this...you add 2 TB water, 1TB baking powder, few drops of food coloring, and 3-4 drops of dish soap!
Mix well!
Pour in 2 TB of vinegar.
Then smile big!
Take two...with yellow dye!

I always loved that experiment. (Hopefully that's my only interaction with "volcanoes" though..)
We used to play 'Steal and Bacon' on occasion; however, since I was in a cub scout troop of 1 for most of my boyhood, ideas don't flow quite so freely...
Here's a fun "rocket" adventure. If you have an old 35mm film canister, (good luck on that one) fill it half way with water, add half of an alka-seltzer tablet. Snap the lid on, turn it upside-down with the lid down. Stand back and count down from 10. It will pop up in the air. Trust me, we've done it for years in our TK class.
