It's clean!

The basement!!!   Well, at least it was clean for a few days!

You don't understand, the "dungeon" is where everything is thrown and forgotten...when things suddenly disappear only to have to be ransacked again and again to find anything!

But today, It's CLEAN!

Can you believe it?

My basement is suppose to be a mother-in-law apartment.  Except that the kitchen sink doesn't work because there is no dishwasher.  (water would come gushing out onto the floor, so we've turned it off)  We can't put a fridge down there because the space is too small to fit a normal one. The bathroom....well the bathroom is just a joke.  You can't actually sit on the toilet with out jamming your knees into the wall...so you have to side saddle--that's fun!

Then the shower is so small that you have just enough room to fit the surface area of your body...and not much more.  In fact I have a funny story to tell you about my Brother Hazen!

Picture by the talented Jason Zimmerman
One day he and his family spent the night, we offered them our basement but also told them they were welcome to use the bathrooms upstairs.  Haze asked if the shower downstairs work, it does, but it's not very big.  He said he didn't care as long as it works, he didn't mind using it!  In my last attempt to get him to use a nicer shower I told him about all the horrible things we hate about it, including the fact that the shower door was not up to code.  The door opens into the shower....if for whatever reason the water turns scalding hot and you need to jump out of the shower, you'd actually have to step into the water to open the door.  Not very safe.  He didn't care and went downstairs to take his shower anyway.    His wife Steph and I were in the front room talking when he came back up after his shower fifteen minutes later.  He had a huge grin on his face!!!  He then told us that as he was down showering, lathering and scrubbing, he went to turn around to rinse off his backside when his elbow hit the water knob and turned it all the way to left...scalding hot!!  The first thing to go through his mind was the fact that the shower door wasn't up to code and that he was going to burn to death.  After the water started getting hot and just before he started a girly scream he it finally dawned on him that he could just reach out and turn the temperature back down.  As Hazen's telling us this story he's was actually acting it out!! So you can image Steph and I were just rolling with laughter!
If you can imagine he is also 5 inches taller than me!

Then a few weeks later my other brother Richard and his family stayed with us for a few days.  I again offer my basement and told them that they are more than welcome (PLEASE) to use the bathrooms upstairs.  I told them about the shower not being up to code and also about what happened to Hazen only a few weeks earlier.  Rich said that he didn't care and decided to take a shower down there anyway. (what's up with my brothers not listening to me??)  A few minutes later Rich comes upstairs where he wife Michelle and I are talking, and he's grinning from ear to ear!   {Oh no!}  He said that he was taking a shower and he was thinking about the story of Hazen, he was all lathered up and ready to rinse off...but before he turned around he thought..."Elbows up then turn!"  Of course he's telling us this complete with actions!!!

My brother's are so funny!
