Yanked

It finally happened. After years and years of waiting, watching older siblings turn come and go,the time had finally come. Wesley had his very own loose tooth.

He was told to keep wiggling it and it would come out on it's own but after a few weeks something started happening that Wesley didn't expect. Wiggly teeth hurt! --Surprise! No one really told him about this part of loosing a tooth, rude. He didn't want to wiggle it, touch it or even put food anywhere next to it...PAIN!

For a few more months Wesley tried his best to keep his teeth right where they were. But then came the fateful day...the dentist appointment. While Wes sat in the 'fun chair' maneuvering a play station game on one of the many TV in the ceiling, the doctor called his mother over to him and wanted to know if she knew about his loose teeth? Yes, of course she did! (She DID know about it, but to be honest she had forgotten.)

"WAIT a minute, did he say TEETH?" Yes, yes he did.

The doctor then showed Wesley's mom that it wasn't just one loose tooth, there were THREE! The two bottom front teeth and a front one on the top. BUSTED---the truth was out and now Wesley's mom knew the truth. Wesley took a half a second to glance away from the video game to see what mom's reaction was. ---BUSTED. The dentist then went on to explain how it rarely happens that you loose all your front teeth at the same time, and that it's not really a good thing. He encouraged Wesley and his mom to keep wiggling the bottom teeth so that they would come out first and hopefully have his bottom teeth start growing in a little before the top teeth came out. Simple enough right? ...Wrong!

Here is when the nightly torture began! Wesley's mom and dad would take turns wiggling his VERY loose tooth. But that darn thing must have three inches worth of roots because DANG, that thing just wasn't coming! Four days after the dentist appointment Wesley and his brothers and sisters were told to get in bed for the night....Wesley decided to sneak out of bed and get one last sip of water, but alas, he was caught. Mom had warned him that if he got out of bed he would have to get his tooth wiggled. (Harsh, I know!) Dad grabbed a tissue and pushed and pulled...and even twisted a little. Oh the poor kid, Wesley was so brave. But Nothing. Mom went to go get Wesley some ibuprofen to help him sleep with the darn sore tooth when Dad decided to try again. This time, straight up...and hard--- PULL!

And that is the story of when Wesley lost his first tooth. He is kind of disappointed that he has to loose all his baby teeth, even the tooth fairy visiting really doesn't make up for that kind of pain!

Although a missing tooth feels a lot better than a loose tooth! Oh, he's so much like his mama!

Here is the story of when Emily lost her first tooth. (I didn't have this blog when Josh lost his first tooth, I'm a horrible parent I know! But here is the Vlog when he lost his two front teeth!)
