Yes!

Tuesday was the anniversary of the day I said yes...when Shawn asked me to marry him. He had taken me up the canyon to my favorite picnic spot and every year on that same day we have made an effort to go back to the exact same spot and enjoy the day. Once we had kids it became a family fun day...it's ironic, we celebrate this day better than our actual anniversary! ...probably because we don't have to find a baby sitter! ☻ This year we started the day by going to the temple open house. It was a beautiful morning and it was so neat to be able to be in the temple with our whole family, especially our kids. We stayed behind in the sealing room and let the kids look into the giant mirrors that go on forever. I teared up a little walking through the bridal room with Emily....the room is fit for a queen! Then we spent some time in the Celestial room and let the kids look around. We talked about being back in that room for each of the kids for missions and weddings...Josh still hopes they call him to TEXAS on his mission!??? We had planned to go up the canyon for the traditional picnic dinner that night, but the weather didn't cooperate with us. (big surprise!) So we came back down and went to Sears and bought Shawn his Father's day present instead! About 6 years ago Shawn got a BBQ for father's day from his mom and we certainly used and abused that thing and if finally died earlier this spring. We decided it was only fitting to wait and buy one for Father's day again!

Then finally on Friday night we got the chance to go have our canyon fun...gotta love traditions!

Now that the weather is starting to cooperate we can make a summer fun list again. Do you have any suggestions for us this year?
