Joshie's first day of First grade was yesterday. He was so excited, he actually got out of bed the first time I asked him to. He was so excited to finally be able to go to school ALL day! He was a little worried that he would miss out on Family Home Evening until I assured him that "all day" only meant all school day and that he would be home in time for dinner and FHE. You can tell he loves school when he was totally okay with staying there 24/7.
We had to go early to get his medicine all squared away before school started. What a joke that ended up being. Since last Friday, his doctors office (still) hasn't faxed back the paperwork allowing him to have an epi-pen at school or permission to sit at the peanut-free table. Then, the school custodian decided that they didn't need a peanut-free table anymore and got rid of it. So Josh gets to sit in a desk up on the stage during lunch. The secretary assures me that she will handle this and he won't be shoved in a corner anymore. Although to be honest he doesn't seem to mind, he gets to be 'center stage' and share the tiny desk with his friend Issac who is also allergic to peanuts.
When I asked Josh what his favorite part of the day was, he couldn't decide between two things... recess and seat work, they were both so fun. Although he did comment on how easy the work was and that he was sure it would get hard soon (hopefully for his sake it does, he does 2nd grade work at home with mom) When I asked what was the thing he liked least about the day he told me that he was girl trapped (he sits between two girls) and that Carlee kept putting her head down and saying "I want to go home!"
Now I just need to get myself organized enough to do my normal preschool at home with my other kids.
